So sorry to hear of Jim’s passing, he was an inspiration to the construction industry and a very honourable competitor. I used to float his equipment around CBS before he had his own float truck. I watched his company grow from humble beginnings to a very respectable entity. He will be sadly missed but always remembered. God bless Derek and Lana Greenslade3L

I am so saddened to learn of Mr. Weir’s passing.
I had the honour of meeting and dealing with Jim when I served as Chairman of the CBS Swimming Pool Committee when the town was trying to get a pool for the community.
Mr Weir was operating a pit on the site owned by the Lion’s Club, which the Lions Club had donated to the Town of CBS for the new swimming pool.
I approached Mr. Weir to bring the site to a site ready for construction, which involved the blasting and removal of many untold tons of material.
At our first of many visits, Jim looked at me like I was crazy.
I persisted, to say the least.
Finally, it was a Friday, in Jim’s kitchen along with wife, Geraldine, when Jim said to his wife. “Geraldine, I might as well do it, or he’s never to get out of my hair”. Geraldine just smiled.
Mr. And Mrs Weir’s donation to the people of Conception Bay South was valued at that time in excess of $130,000
Thank you Jim & Geraldine for your support, kindness and generosity to your community.
My sincere condolences to all the Weir families. RIP Jim
God Bless
Bruce Martin

So sorry about the loss of your father Jim and Bill.. What words do you say when a person who has made such a large positive impact in this world passes away? I don't know either, he was larger than life, a man who valued family and built an empire in the industry. Just knowing that he's gone now makes it that much more of an empty place. Rest easy knowing that he is with your mom and Dennis in a good place and in peace. He'll keep an eye on things from "Up There"..

Jimmy, Bill, Sharon & Jessica and all the Weir Families
It seems like only yesterday Jim gave me my 1st supply pipe job at Bells Turn in 1991, i didnt know then but Jim & Weirs Construction would shape the lives of my own Family. His easy going disposition, his family values, alittle bit of humour, his knowledge and thrive of the construction world, his work ethic and overall a genuine good nature family man.
Jim was very proud of his family and his business and him and Mrs Weir along with Denis, & Jimmy & BIll made significant contributions to the Construction Industry right across our province, Jim was in my office only last November talking about the times he first got into construction but yet he had to get back to the jobsite, knowing others depended on him at 81 years of age. Throughout his journey Jim actually made a difference.
Myself & Linda pass on our since Condolences to all Jim's family, and we thank him, his family and Construction family for being a small piece of our family.

To Wier family. Sorry to hear of your Dad And Grandfather‘s passing. I know you had a Lot great times and challenging times together.
Hold on to all the great memories
I only knew the Skipper for a short time but I have great memories of . Making him Laugh
I’ll never forget when I told him I was going to give Bill some counselling and some direction on how to crush stone so that he could get more money for it.
I told him we get a lot more money for our stone in BAIE VERTE then what he does in Saint Johns and I was here to show him how to do it, I can still see the Skipper laugh so hard.
I always teased the Skipper about driving a Dodge or Chev and I told him that’s OK if that’s all he could afford And that one day he would drive a good old Ford truck which we all know happened.
He will be greatly missed. I pass on condolence from the
The Bailey Brothers and their families and your Family will be in our prayers to help you through the Days that are ahead God Bless the Weir Families

My deepest condolences to you all. I know how you are feeling , I too lost my dad last December. I know your heart is breaking. I remember when I first met Uncle Jim. It was at Sid and Ruby’s annual Christmas Cold plate supper. The house was packed and you sat at the table in shifts. The men were first then the women and when the kitchen was cleaned up the dancing and singing started. They partied until the early morning. One time the party was cut short, heavy snowfall took Uncle Jim and Sid out to plow side roads in CBS. Remembering and talking about Uncle Jim will give you strength and peace. Hugs to you all. Love Jessie
