Deepest sympathy to Ron’s family
Ron was a lifelong friend of my father, Granville; and for many years he and I continued to also share a mutual love of the world of tuna fishing and many stories on same.
Ron always shared with enthusiastic his own fishing tales and experiences and was eager to learn of ours as well.
It was always a great pleasure to chat with him - a very interesting and inspiring man.

When I had a broken ankle he would carry me into the school so I didn’t slip on the ice with my bulky cast. He was a very kind and gentle man. My thoughts are with you during this sad time.

Although I didn't know Ron well, you were both so nice to Kev, my brother, when he was an inpatient at HSC in August 2021, a time when Ron was also an inpatient and you would visit often. Your conversations with Kev meant a lot to him, and I was fortunate enough to have a nice chat with you too at that time.

I have so many memories of time with him. Two of these come to my mind, immediately! When my twins were 2 years old, I needed a job where they could come with me. I started driving a school bus, for special needs children. I had no idea that he had done the same! We spent many hours swapping stories! We shared our love of this time, in our lives! As my twins got older, my daughter turned into an amazing athlete. She played soccer and basketball. My mother, his sister, Dianne, had to call him with all her game info. He loved every second of it! He was so excited to hear it all! If a voice could “light up”, his did! He loved me and supported me, always. I love you, Uncle Ron. There is a party, going on, up in Heaven today. Until we meet again…

We are so sorry to hear of Ronnie's passing.
Ronnie devoted a lot of time to driving our softball team (sponsored by Will) from various outings ensuring all got home safely. I loved playing slow pitch softball against Ronnie's Star of the Sea team.
Mostly though, we always enjoyed you and Ronnie whenever we would see you at a dance at the Star or over a coffee at Tim Hortons in Kelligrews.
Ronnie was a big handsome man with a huge smile a kind heart. He fit in well with the Furey family and Holyrood is a little sadder for losing him.
