It is with heavy hearts we announce our lives are forever changed by the passing of our mother, Jean Goodyear, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters and siblings on Tuesday June 18,2024 at the age of 77 years old.
Jean is predeceased by her husband Jeff (Jet) Goodyear, her parents Agnes and James O’Neill, siblings, Mabel Wall, Marie Gosse, Pauline Power and Joseph O’Neill.
Affectionately known as “Jeanie” to many, she leaves behind a legacy of love for her family. Jean leaves to mourn her daughters, Denise (Dwayne) and Deanne (Carl), son, Dion (Natalie) and the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Aiden( Kailey),Alex, Tommy and her “sweet girl” Marin. Also, her siblings Sandra Quinlan (Ed), Nellie Smith (Walter), Janet Boland, Pat O’Neill (Merle), Jim O’Neill (Chick), Terry O’Neill (Lynda) and Sylvia Manual (Gord) and many nieces, nephews and brother and sister in- laws. Jean’s family meant the world to her. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy. Her granddaughter Marin was the light of her life and brought her so much happiness and laughter! Her grandsons Aiden, Alex and Tommy, who she adored so very much, made her beam with pride. She enjoyed dancing and listening to newfoundland music with her grandsons in Holyrood and during her time at Admiral’s Coast Retirement Home, she loved her boys. She will be dearly missed by a large circle of extended family and friends especially her beloved friends, Madonna and Rex Dyke and Anne Marie and Don Rohan. Jean loved to have fun and socialize with her family and friends, and her pet dog, Shylo, would always be by her side.
She will be forever missed and loved, and her kindhearted spirit will live on.
