So sorry to just learn of her passing. She and Mrs. Bishop were our next door neighbors in Florida in Sunset Palms. Max and I thought the world of both of them. If I had known in June I would have come to the funeral home. My son just told me tonight. (July 7th) Only today I rewatched the show on Land and Sea which I have kept recorded because my late husband Max is on it; My sincere sympathy to all the family

To Dot's family---I just learned of your dear mom's passing. I was both shocked and saddened--- another dear old soldier who put her all into her family and community.
Dot was a unique individual with a heart of gold. She treated everyone with respect , that beautiful smile and infectuous laughter! Seemed like she never complained.
I remember Dot being such a big part of my family's lives as she and my mom were great buddies. They served in the LA.....meeting once a month and fundraising for guides and brownies. Without their efforts we may never have been able to have a guiding association. They went to Con Ba Su guide camp to cook and help guides enjoy their camping experiences. I heard they were great fun to be around. And then there were the hockey games in which many of the Bishop boys played, along with my brother, Kevin. They were all heroes according to Dot and mom. I'm sure they never missed a Monday night 's trip from Long Pond to Price of Wales Arena to watch their sons play. They worked so hard fundraising for their team. I could go on and on talking about the hard work these and all the moms involved in extracurricular activies did in those years. They were part of the bedrock of the communities which we now call CBS.
So, I thank you Dot for caring about and loving us all and sacrificing so much to help us all grow and become the men and women of the then future. You hold a special place in our hearts!

I am saddened to hear the news of Mrs Bishop’s passing. A wonderful woman and an icon of our community gone but not forgotten, she will be missed. I think Mrs Bishop was the last of my parents’ generation left. She telephoned regularly to say hello and catch up on what was happening in mine and Brenda’s lives and to relate what was happening with all of you and your families. She always had some tale to tell of where she had been and what each of the grandchildren were up to. She was so proud of you all.
The loss of a Mom is one of the most difficult things to face in this life, no matter the age. Hold on to your memories, they will bring you great comfort. My thoughts are with you at this time.

( Victor & Lillian Jefford ) Both well liked in our community & their gas station a center of activity.
Your mom was very active in our community with guides & school. I remember getting my cooking badge
by going to her home & cooking breakfast for Her & Ray. Well that was challenge for me not used to cooking,
but Dot made me feel at home . Her laugh & smile made everything OK.
I would love to see you all but I am out of town at present.
