Chris,
I'll never forget our childhood together. The memories we shared from 2002-2014 will last me a lifetime. Building cabins, having fires & blowing up spray paint cans, hopping rocks on the Manuals River, King of the Hill with the Sheppards, late nights at Seth's, and plenty of more extracurricular activities I won't mention here that shaped the way I see the world; you were by my side for many of my greatest experiences that expanded my mind and gave me an outlet I may not have had otherwise. For that, I am truly grateful. I'll never forget your bravery, unique personality, and of course, your laugh. You were one of a kind.
To the Pomroys: I have you in my heart at this time. All of you have left a positive impact on my life, and have inspired me to some degree or another. Tony & Samantha, getting to spend a huge chunk of my childhood with your brother, I saw how much he loved you and the lengths he would have gone to protect you both no matter what. Chris cherished you all so much. Janet & Tony Sr. thanks for not killing us kids when you had plenty of reason to do so! You were/are great parents.

While I don’t know the family I do know you must be a relative of my late husband Robert who was the son of Anthony Pomroy (Merasheen) and Mary Coady (Bar Haven). I was blessed to have spent many hours on Merasheen island with my uncle Eddie (Adrien Pomroy). My first trip was for the 1985 reunion. Heartbroken at the loss of one of my oldest and closest friends. My most sincere condolences to Chris' family.
To echo the words of his sister, Sam, Chris was truly loyal to a fault. He had a great sense of humour and would always make himself available to help a friend. Chris and I spent countless hours wandering the "tracks", playing video games, and enjoying each other's company. More often than not, accompanied by his dog Lucy, and our other goofball friends (who know who they are).
It would be hard to disentangle my adolescence and early adulthood from experiences that involved Chris. I'll never forget the day that myself, Chris, and Seth took Chris' tiny Zodiac out in Conception Bay to go cod jigging. It was a scorcher of a day, and whales were breaching all around us. We didn't catch any cod worth keeping, despite best efforts and a fish-finder, but it was one of the most memorable days of my life. Not a care in the world beyond whose house we'd be going to afterwards for a beer and a draw (it was my house).
I'd like to say I'm lost for words, but those who know me know that is never the case. I could write enough about my times with Chris to fill a novel - that is not an overstatement. I feel privileged to have grown up alongside him and to have shared so many laughs (and the odd cry).
I will miss you dearly, my old friend.
