I have known Donetta for most of my life, from the Salvation Army & then as family when my brother Steve started dating her sister Barbara more then fifty years ago! She was always such a beautiful girl then lady & her personality was next to none! We have enjoyed many family get togethers & they were always very enjoyful! She was so full of goodness & grace & that is how I will always remember her! Rest in Peace sweet lady & fly high with the Angels! My condolences to all the family!

Graduation of high school sends us off in many different directions. I hadn’t seen Donetta in years until I came across her at Pleasantview while visiting my sister-in-law Mona. Such a sad realization to see her there, knowing what a beautiful person I remembered her to be.

We are thinking of all our family today..wishing we could be there to remember and celebrate the life of Donetta together.
Donetta was my Aunt and a very special person..her inner and outer beauty was immediately realized by all who met her.
She always welcomed you with open arms and kindness..she had a loving spirit and a genuine interest in your life and spending time with you.
Donetta loved a good joke or a funny story to tell…but she was always a lady and told it in a classy way.
She was our family photographer and made wonderful memories for us all..so we would never forget the time we spent together.
We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives for the time we had..if only she could have stayed..how lucky we would have been.

So saddened to see that Donetta has passed away. I first met her in 1971 as we became classmates and remained so until our high school graduation. She was a beautiful, mature and very studious person. Conversations with her were treasured by me due to her outstanding intellect coupled with the ladylike manner in which she carried herself. To Matthew & Tina, and Zachary & Katie, Tatianna, Clarabelle and Ella - I was sad to hear of Donetta’s passing. Donetta was my first cousin and I knew her as a child, when my mom would take us to visit Aunt Alice, and also later as a young adult, where I would have short visits with her at the bank when she worked at the Royal Bank of Canada. She was a sweet and impressive lady and I was always struck by her extreme beauty and style; she stood out and was very professional. I remember she told me, when she decided to retire, that she wanted to be there for her family. Also, to Ruby & Edgar, Barbra & Steve, Bryron & Elizabeth, Cass & Sheldon, Jackie and all of Donetta’s nieces and nephews, my heart goes out to you and my thoughts are with you all at this very sad time.
