To The Barefoot Family,
Ms. Barefoot or Foot to us as little girls, was an important part of our childhood and life. She was the woman who cared for us while our parents worked as teachers.
She walked us to the bus stop, nursed us when we were sick, played games with us (like hindy handy spindy spandy and Bingo with pennies), and loved us like her own. She included us in her family's birthday parties and we have fond memories of a summer visit to their trailer. Foot gave us our first drink of tea and introduced us to her "stories" on TV.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and so many of our family sayings are attributed to her. She enjoyed "fairing off" a piece of our dad's cherry cake and never turned down a tea bun.
Both Foot and Carl hold such special memories in our hearts as children and as adults. We will cherish these memories as the Barefoot family has helped shaped us into the adults we are today. We certainly share in your grief of this immense loss.
We are confident that the happy memories you all hold will see you through. Please take some comfort knowing that there is a generation of children that your family impacted so greatly by sharing Foot with us.
