Mrs. Power, Ricky, Steven and Maureen. I am sorry to hear of your husband/fathers passing. I can remember him being such a kind and caring man. I have a lot of memories of him and will never forget his gentle soul. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Kay & family, it was indeed a pleasure to be present at the “Celebration of Life” for Rich yesterday. The respect and love for his legacy was so well exemplified from the tribute, music, readings and reflection by Fr. Wayne. I hope the beautiful service was of comfort to you all and brings peace to your hearts at this difficult time.
Kathleen, Ricky, Stephen and Maureen, I am so very sorry to hear of Rich's passing. I remember his visits to Mom's and Dad's over the years and talking about the Smallwood era with him. To Thelma and Richard’s family. Please accept my condolence at the loss of a loving brother, husband and father. It was my privilege to know Rich between the years 1955-59 when Thelma and I were students at St. F.X. Living in St. John’s meant that my home often became a stopover if weather conditions made getting to Bell Island impossible. Also I remember visiting the Power home for a weekend and feeling very welcome. Rich and I became friends and even saw a few movies together in St. John’s. In reading the obits, I was not surprised to see how well liked and regarded he was by all who knew him. He was always kind and a perfect gentleman. May his soul Rest In Peace.
