Jimmy and Family; It was really sad to hear about your mom's passing. As you know I was was a boarder with your mom and Dad in the school year 1973/74. It did not end there thou, they invited me back many, many times for Sunday dinner which I always accepted and enjoyed been with your mom and dad. They always made me feel like I was part of the family. They visited me here in St. John's and even visited my patents in Leading Tickles.
And as I visited the funeral home last night I felt that same family acceptance from your extended Haines and Morgan families. It was great seeing them again.
I remember your Dad's passion for farming, he talked and talked about it. It was in his soul and from that passion he inspired me. I now have a little back garden veggie patch and think of your dad when I'm working the ground.
As a new and young boarder with your Mom and Dad back in 1973, and just after a couple days there I broke an expensive knob off a chair from your mom's brand new dining room set, "Oh God". I didn't know what to expect, "be kicked out" "have to pay for it", I got my nerve up and told your mom. Your Mom said, that's ok if it broke that easy it should not have been here in the first place. It's not worth the money I paid for it. When we got home from school that evening it was a brand new dining room set. It was top quality. Your Mother was about the right quality and the right deal.
I will remember your Mom from a visit I made two years ago, this time I brought Sunday's dinner which we enjoyed and we talked all evening, no doubt we had a laugh over the broken dining room chair. Your Mom then was still was full of life and energy, but maybe fading.
Jimmy, you are your Mom and Dad, be proud.
