I met Nathan (aka Higgins) on a shutdown with Horton the same year I got married. Nathan was a capable apprentice - the sort you HOPE and pray for when you're a Journeyman. Nathan was a positive person to be around and always had a desire to learn and an aptitude that made everyone aware of his potential. I'm terrible at keeping up with people I meet from work. There are so many people you meet in passing - never to see again. Nathan was different. Every few weeks I'd get a message...a hello....a hey...a hi....a "whats up?" and from there we could talk anywhere from five minutes about jobs coming up, or an hour about fishing/hunting/life. I cannot fathom what his partner, his parents, his family and close friends are going through - I can only offer my condolences. Thank you for raising the man I worked beside. Thank you for raising the man that I got to call friend. Until we meet again.
