July 3, 1952 - April 18, 2012
It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Lynn Ruth Beaton (nee Butler) on April 18, 2012; surrounded by her loving family, and after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Cheryl was a devoted and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother who lovingly and selflessly dedicated her life towards caring and providing for her family. A strong woman of faith who was committed to serving God through service to her church family, Cheryl served as a Deacon on the Faith Pentecostal Church Board, was an active member of many church groups including the 50+ Club, the Social Committee, Sunday School, the Canadian Bible Society, and was a student of Theology. Her professional career spanned over thirty years within the travel industry which she enjoyed immensely, and where she garnered the respect and admiration of many within the Corporate community and in the public domain. Predeceased by her mother Mary Butler, Cheryl will be ever remembered and dearly missed by her loving husband Roland, cherished children Kerri Beaton Nugent and Geoff (Tracy) Beaton, and precious grandchildren Tyler, Emma, Lauren, Joshua, Sophia and Arianna. She will also be forever missed and remembered with love by her father Sidney Butler; siblings and spouses, Joan & Walt Hodder, Judi & Dan Blackmore, Roma & Freeman White, Glen & Christine Butler, Scott & Tena Butler, Beverly & Peter Rockwood;sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara & Robert Chase, June & Max Arnold, Sandra & Merricks Chipp, Brian & Paula Beaton, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, co-workers, and a wide circle of close friends. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, 570 CBH, Kelligrews on Thursday, April 19th from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral service to be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 20, at Faith Pentecostal Church, 36 Foxtrap Access Rd, CBS, with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery at Long Pond, Manuels. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Bible Society, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation NL.
