Tara, Gracie, and Melissa, I was deeply saddened to hear about your dad's passing. He was one of my oldest and dearest friends. I know this is a very difficult time for you but try to take comfort in knowing that your dad isn't hurting anymore. Be there for each other and remember he'll always be with you in your heart, all you have to do is think of him and he'll be there. Sharon, I wish I could be there with you today. I'm leaving Calgary next week to come home, if only I left a couple of weeks earlier! Over the past few years, Bruce and I have talked on the phone many times. We talked about the good old days and we talked about the days to come. He told me of his condition and (after going through "C" myself) I knew how difficult it was for him to hear that and to accept it. But I encouraged him to be strong, stay positive and do whatever he had to to get well. It's hard to believe now that he's gone. He was so excited for me when he knew I was moving back to Nfld., and we planned on having a grand old sing-song when I got home. It's so sad that I didn't get the chance to do that with him, and see him one more time. Sharon, my thoughts and prayers are with you all and Bruce my friend, you may be moved on but you will never be forgotten.
