To Ted, Ken, Neil, and Asetha: Words are not enough to express the deep sorrow we feel for losing Verna. It will take a very long time for this wound to heal and this ache in our hearts to come to rest. But even in death, one finds hope and courage to continue on living. Just today we witnessed the love and support of so many people that were very fortunate enough to get to know Verna. She will always be there in our hearts and in our lives. I am sure that she is finally free and at peace. Verna will be missed by all those who loved her very much.

Nanny Power I love you and I know that you will always love me and that you love me with all your heart. I really liked my Christmas presents they were really nice. I am glad that i got to see you at Christmas’s will remember every word that you ever said to me and every hug that you ever gave me. The quilts you made were so beautiful I like that you made them your favourite color. The first quilt you made me is still on my bed and every time I think of you I go and crawl under that quilt. I really hope that you enjoy heaven. You were so nice to me and to everyone that it is hard to say goodbye Nanny Power. I was praying that I wouldn’t have to say good bye. But you will always be in my heart so in a way I won’t have to say good bye. Nanny Power I am sorry I never got to tell you how much I loved my Christmas presents and my quilt. I will never forget you not in a million years not ever in my life. I hope that you are not still in pain. I will really miss you I think I will do a walk for cancer this year. I am glad that I got to spend my Christmas with you. Nanny Power I love you and always will I know that you love me with all your heart just like I will always love you with all my heart. Good bye Nanny Power may you rest in peace.
