On behalf of my family i send my deepest sympathy. I got to know David and his father over many years. David always had a smile on his face and alwayd stopped to say hello to everyone he met. David also loved music and i am thinking tuned almost every piano available. He will be sadly missed. David was one of a kind.
I delivered newspapers in Chamberlains and Topsail in my youth. Mr. Baird's store was at the western edge of my route. The thought of visiting his store was always something to look forward to. The sights, sounds, a friendly greeting and a chat. Me. Baird always has time to share... and some good candy to buy with a few pennies. The first musical instrument I could afford to buy on my own I bought from David Baird's Music Store... Pianos in or house owed him a tune or twenty. He was a part of the joy of music in or home... and is a part of the rhythm in my soul. Mr. Baird lives among my fondest memories.
Sending sincere condolences to David's family. I recall many wonderful memories of going to David's music store in Topsail with my dad (Fred George). I fondly remember his genuine friendship and respect offered to our family. Many of my guitar picks came from his shop and as a little girl I listened proudly to the stories David and my dad shared. Your loss is felt by many. I pray that you will be comforted in knowing the god of all peace is with you and offers His strength and comfort today and for the days to come. My condolences to the family of Mr Baird, being from topsail myself I remember his dad coming in spruce hill road every day to farm his land by my house and the many memories of visiting Mr Bairds store and buying candy, he was as smart as a whip, Topsail has lost a great member of our community, may he R.I.P.
