She was our mom but we all forget that she was once a young woman with lots of hopes and dreams for her future. I posted some old photos of a very beautiful young woman full of life and laughing. This is how I want to remember her. She got us all through many ups and downs. I remember as a kid how we had so many of our cousins live with us over the years. Our house was always full. I think I picked this up from her. on a Saturday my kids always ask we else is coming to supper. I am so glad we all got down to see her at thanksgiving. She was so happy. I remember growing up we did not have a lot compared to some of my friends. But if mom heard that someone needed help whether it be a place to stay, food or a shoulder to cry on, mom was there to lend a hand where she could. This is something I belive she passed on to us her children and grandchildren.

Not only was nan my grandmother, but also my friend. My favourite memories were times spent beating the path with nan and her 3 sisters. Renting a cabin in Eastport, and even when they would come visit and stay at nans it was guaranteed to be a good time, with lots of whiskey! I don't know who was more excited when I got my license, if it was me or her, I think it meant freedom for us both. I will always cherish these memories and hold them dear to my heart.
