When I was a young boy of about 9 or 10 years old living in Schefferville, Northern Quebec, Uncle Herb was a maintenance technician for telecommunication systems. In fact at the wake last night his daughter Melvina told me that he used to travel the Canadian Arctic installing telecommunication towers. In any event Uncle Herb used to spend a lot of time working in a large telephone switching station near our home and he would come and get me and take me along. I was fascinated by all the gadgets as a little boy would be and on occasion he would hook up the special telephone headset that he had directly into the switches and allow me to call anywhere in the world that I wanted. I would call places like China or Brazil until I found someone speaking english and would start off the conversation with "How's the weather down there?" we had loads of fun, Uncle Herb was a good man, hard working and kind. My parents thought enough of him to name me after him, thus my middle name, I will miss him as will others. May God Bless you. Terrance HERBERT Hounsell
