Obituary of Chelsea Hart

Chelsea Allison Hart

November 16, 2004 – November 4, 2024

It is with immense sadness and heartbreak we share the passing of our “sweet, beautiful, angel,” Chelsea Allison. Chelsea was our first and forever baby girl who loved music (and all things loud), adventures, Dairy Queen in the mall, and her family and friends - her soft coos, loud laughs, and call outs to mom, dad and Callie will be cherished always.

Chelsea leaves behind her devoted parents, Kim and Barry and her amazing little sister, Callie. Her grandparents Mary LeMaire (Doug, deceased), Harold Porter and Roland Hart (Violet, deceased) and her great grandparents Audrey Porter and Albert& Hazel Peach will cherish the beautiful memories of her. She will also be missed by her aunts and uncles, Mark, Jill, Brian, Amanda and cousins Meaghan and Michael. Chelsea was also blessed to have her best friend, Kelly by her side daily, keeping mom and dad posted on her every move!

Chelsea was extremely medical fragile. She would never have made it 19 years without the entire staff of the Janeway Hospital, Chelsea's home away from home. Our sincere thanks go out to everyone, especially Emergency, ICU, Neurology, Surgery, 4thFloor Inpatients (Surgery/ Medicine) and the Rehab Staff. Thank you for always listening, always being there and always supporting us through the impossible. Thank you to the Palliative Care Team, Public Health Nurses and the Community Paramedics who became part of our family during the past year and a half.

Chelsea was blessed to have so many amazing people (too many families and friends to name) in her life. She had such strong friendships with many other Janeway inspirational children and the support we received from their parents was crucial for us. Thank you to the staff of Easter Seals, The CP Association, Shriners, Children’s Wish and Caregivers (and all our respite workers, especially Karla, Kayla and Laura). A special thank you to Chelsea’s Santa, whose bells were amongst Chelsea’s favorite sounds. Some of Chelsea’s best years were spend at Daybreak – the entire staff enveloped our family with support and friendship. Although, Chelseas time at school was very limited we do wish to thank a few exceptional teachers.

Kim and Barry would also like to send a huge thank you to their “workplace families” at CNIB (including Family Camp) and The Salvation Army – we would have never made it through without their support, encouragement and love through the years!

We are asking for no flowers, but for each of us to live like Chelsea –happy and loving everything about life, always ready for a big belly laugh, an adventure or a tight warm cozy cuddle!

Chelsea will be waked at Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South. Visitation will be Thursday Nov 7th from 3-8pm. Funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army St. John Temple, 101 Torbay Road, St. John’s on Friday Nov 8th at 11am. To send a message of condolence, please visit www.hickeysfuneralhome.com
