I was so shocked and saddened to hear this week of Jimmy's passing. Although I have not seen him the past few years, I have many good memories going all the way back to when we were 10 years old. When we first moved to Port au Port his brothers helped my Dad build our house, we got to know Jimmy well. Later his older siblings would babysit my brother and I and he would often come too, keeping us in tears laughing the whole time. We spent many fun days riding bike, playing baseball and spotlight, he was always the comedian in the group. He was strong, tough and would help anyone; just like the rest of his family. When he moved home from Ontario he brought his little girls into my workplace so that I could meet them. He was "so very proud of them" and being their Dad softened him. To his lovely daughters and all of the Benoit family; May the good memories you hold bring you peace.
