Obituary of Bernard J Walsh

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Walsh of Kelligrews on Thursday, April 25, 2024, age 94.

“Dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family were his whole world. He lived a long beautiful life spending his time doing what he loved which was spending time with his family, working up on the hill, playing cards, and going for walks at the Kiwanis in later years. His family are left with many special memories to hold on to. He was loved beyond words and will be forever in our hearts”

Predeceased by his wife of 63 years: Ursula (2020), mother: Mary, brothers: Peter, Jack, Joe, Richard and Mark. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons: Jim (Sherry) and Rick (Renée), daughters: Karen (Randy) and Ann Marie (Peter), grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer), Melissa (Steve), Stephen, Matthew, Dominic, Tessa, Pete (Carrie), Adam, Colin (Danielle) and Phillip, great grandchildren: Carter, Blake, Alex, Sarah, Dominic, Isla and Isaac. Also leaving to mourn are sister: Margaret, sister-in-law: Rosanne (Larry), and a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to Sherry, Kayla and Melody for taking such wonderful care of Dad over the past few months so that he was able to stay in his own home.

Visitation will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 3-7pm at Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South. Funeral service to take place at Hickey’s Memorial Chapel, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11:30am. Interment at St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Conception bay South. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
