Hogan, Dermot (Tiny)

Due to impending weather on Wednesday, February 14^th, 2024, the visitation from 9- 12 for the late Dermot Hogan has been canceled and has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 15^th ,2024 from 10 – 1 pm.

Passed away peacefully at the L. A. Miller Centre on February 11th, 2024, age 62 years.  

Predeceased by his parents: Jean and Don, brothers: Don (Butch), Bob, Wayne, Brendan (Bud), sister Patsy, brother-in-law Dave, and sister-in-law Margie.  

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons: Christian (Sherri-lynn) and James (Jennifer) as well as their mother Paula and precious granddaughter, who was poppy’s pride and joy: Rylee Lou. Brothers: Gene and Ted (Betty), sisters: Marian, Beverley (Rick), sister-in-law: Gail, special nieces: Corrina and Tash and as well as a large loving circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  

Dermot (Tiny) grew up in St. John's where he made many memories until he built his home with his family in Conception Bay South where he resided for almost 40 years. Tiny cherished and often reflected on his time working at the Janeway Children’s Rehab Centre with the children and their families. From there he continued his work in healthcare in multiple areas where he prided himself on always helping the patients, nurses and staff in whatever way he could until he retired in 2016. Tiny also had a big passion of moose hunting. He made an immense amount of memories with family and friends on hunting trips and was always on top of reminding his son Christian when to apply and when the draw was made. He also looked forward to going to bingo every Saturday with his special bingo buddy and dear sister Marian. 

Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on: 
Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, from 3 – 8 pm,  
Thursday, February 15^th, 2024, from 10 – 1 pm, 
 

 Funeral service will be held in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at 1:30 pm.
