I have so many beautiful memories with pa. He was like a second father to me. I basically lived in the Fitzgerald house throughout high school and university. Pa was so funny and he went along with all of our crazy games and ideas. He was a fantastic father and exceptional human being. Heaven will be an ever better place with him there!
Penny my heart aches for you. Please know that no matter the distance nor the time, you have and always will be a very special person for me. I cherish our memories and friendship.

We were saddened and shocked to hear of Gerard’s passing.
We had many belly laughs in the hallways, the staffroom, and sometimes in a classroom as a response to Gerard’s jokes and shenanigans. He was a natural jokester, but above all a great friend and colleague.
A conscientious teacher was always Gerard’s standard, and all three of our boys had great respect for Mr. Fitzgerald at St. Edward’s School.
May Gerard’s soul rest peacefully now , and may God comfort you all as you persevere during this difficult time.
