Kevin passed away peacefully at the Health Science on Monday, November 5, 2023, with his wife, Gen by his side. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Stella Kennedy, his sisters: Florence and Marie, and his brother, George, and his mother and father in-law Mary and Patrick McDonald. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife/caretaker Gen; his sons, Rob (Dana), Terry (Angie, James, Liam); his grandson, Kirk (Jillian, Max, Rylee) and granddaughter, Alayna and her mother Tracey Sullivan, his sister, Mary Slaney (Mick) and brother Don (Carol); sisters in-law: Marion Alcock (Rob), Gladys and Hilda McDonald, Viola Kennedy; his cousin, Sister Brenda Lynch, Presentation Congregation, and his best friend, Dick Conway, and his beloved dog, Ruffles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kevin loved music, especially, Country. He was in his glee when left home alone. His music was turned on, turned up, and he sang along. Many a time he would go to the kitchen and surprise us with a meal. Some of his favorite dishes were Jigg’s Dinner, Mush, Cabbage Rolls, Pea Soup, Pepper Steak, and Fish Stew. God provided Kevin with a gifted mind and a set of gifted hands. He used his gifts to make furniture, paint pictures, create iron work and his carpentry skills were exceptional. 50 years ago Kevin made friends with Dr. Bob and Bill W. in the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. He and other members helped set up many groups in our area. Those meetings helped save lives and gave many families sobriety and love and strength to face life’s challenges. The family extends thanks to: Dr. Bob and Bill W. founders of Alcoholics Anonymous; Dr. Paul Walsh, paramedics, emergency room staff of Health Science and St. Clare’s, Dr. Maroun, 4NB Health Science, all doctors, nurses, and staff, especially, Rupert Collins.
