Betty, Debbie, David and Families:
There are those whom we meet on this journey called life and we think that they are invincible, that they will live for ever. For me, Aunt Joan was one of them. Like yourselves, I cannot think of a time in life when Aunt Joan was not part of it. Over the years I have come to the realization that when a person dies we never had enough time with them or we never known a part our lives without them. These past few days have certainly been rough, stormy days but; as an old hymn of the church states: "Boisterous waves obey thy will; when thou biddest them be still." Fortunately for Aunt Joan, she heard that voice as it bid her come to rest. Now that "travelling days are done," may Aunt Joan rest in peace and rise in glory.
On behalf of myself and Mom (Joan Petten) please accept our heartfelt thoughts and prayers, during this time and know that in the days and weeks to come; may every mark of affection and every gesture of friendship, be to all of you, signs of God's peace: signs of God's peace for Aunt Joan and, signs of God's peace for yourselves.
