Obituary of George Emerson Mercer

Mercer, George Emerson (June 21, 1941 - June 14, 2013) Mercer George of C.B.S. passed peacefully away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, St John's. Predeceased by his parents Florizel and Harrison Mercer, brother Sydney Mercer. Leaving to mourn the love of his life, best friend and wife of 53 years, Jean, sons Jeffrey (Dorothy), Randy (Kim), Larry (Bernice) and Rodney, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sisters Jean Batten, Geraldine Lundrigan and Marilyn Delaney, brothers Garfield, David and Gerald. Also, a large circle of relatives and friends in Whitbourne and Foxtrap and the staff of Hoyles Escasoni Complex. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral home, Kelligrews on Saturday and Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A service celebrating George's life will be held at all Saints Anglican Church in Foxtrap, on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Mercer's memory to the Alzheimer Society NL or the All Saints Anglican Fund, Foxtrap.
