To all of Doris' family: Our sincere condolences to all of Doris' family and friends on the passing of their dearly departed loved one. I first met Doris when she managed the local First choice Haircutters salon, and I worked with the local paper. She was an amazingly pleasant and easy-going person who was willing to go that extra mile for all who knew her. There is no doubt she was committed and dedicated to her Children and all family members. May she rest in the eternal peace she so richly deserves.

I am so sorry to hear of Doris’s passing. I have a lot of fond memories of my time with Doris and Vince when I was a child. Even after moving away from Newfoundland, Doris ensured to keep in touch, calling us to see how we were doing & always sending birthday, Christmas, and other holiday gifts. She knew how to make someone feel important and loved. She held a big piece of so many hearts, and will be greatly missed.

She played an important role with the CBS Fire Department especially in the early days with her role in the Firettes. She always attended Fire Department functions even after Vince’s passing and we were honoured to spend time with her. So sorry to hear about your moms passing. Doris played a big part in my career starting out. She took me on for my workterm and guided me through it. Then she took a chance on me and gave me a job. I’ll never forget it. I learned quite a bit from her. She was always very kind to me.
