Aunt Mary and family. I am saddened to hear of the loss of such a wonderful husband, father, uncle and friend to so many. He had a wonderful life and his success was well noted. The siblings are all together once again and we are sure they are having the best kitchen party. Lots of corned beef and cabbage and the likes. My mother Camilla would have been 105 this year. In heartfelt sympathy and prayer to Mary and the Corbett family. It’s hardest to say goodbye to those we love and who matter the most. Mr. Corbett led a long and productive life. He shared a nice memory at my father’s wake (Jim Hawco) over two years ago. He told me about playing hockey on the pond across the road from the family home in Chapel’s Cove. It would be himself, my father, my father’s brother Raymond and other local boys. He had a gleam in his eyes. I also know that when Uncle Raymond (MSgt US Air Force) would come home from Arizona to visit, he always made it a point to connect with Mr. Corbett. They shared a mutual respect and admiration for each other and their friendship withstood the test of time. Then there was my Grandmother, Ann Myers (born Corbett) whom I know maintained a friendship throughout her lifetime of 90 years. They were blessed with the gifts of longevity and lasting friendships. I like to believe they are all reunited once again. Oh what a joyous reunion! “They may be gone from sight, but not from memory.”
