William Joseph HANNAFORD

4 December 1942 – 20 January 2023 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved husband, father, and poppy on Friday, January 20, 2023, at the age of 80 years following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s. Predeceased by his parents, William and Gertrude Hannaford; his brothers, Samuel and Martin Hannaford; sisters-in-law Margaret Hannaford and Anne Hannaford; brother-in-law David Whitten. Leaving to mourn, wife and best friend of 58 years, June, daughter Sandi (Ken) Tulk and son Scott; two special granddaughters Sera Tulk and Meghan Devereaux; his brothers, Edward and Randy (Debbie); his sisters Mary (Bob) Patterson, Ann Whitten, and Madeline (Mike) Hamilton; special uncle-in-law Harry Pearce. We would like to thank the staff of St. Clare’s Hospital, in particular, a special thank you to Dr. Diaz for the wonderful care provided, and to nurses Crystal Raymond and Sherry, as well as student nurse Sarah for the amazing daily care and compassion. Thanks to pharmacist Brad Buckle. Thanks also to home care workers Chibeeze Udunze and Jasmine Oram. To friends Peggy French, Gary Simmonds, Helen Goulding, Golda White, and condo friends, thank you all for your support. Thank you to Father Philip Melvin and Sister Elizabeth Marrie for your prayers and pastoral care. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at later date. In honour of his deep love of animals, donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA or the Newfoundland Pony Society.
