My mother, Lillian Laurie (Ezekiel) wanted me to write this here for her, sending her deepest condolences to all. She just finished telling me that herself and Ethel went to school and grew up together on Bell Island. Mom said she bumped into Ethel a few years back at Dominion and right away they knew each other (after decades of not seeing each other).

I was so sorry to hear of Ethel’s passing. I have fond memories of her growing up when we would visit “the garden” on Sundays. She was always kind to me. In the latter years I would enjoy a chat with her when she would be shopping for groceries at the supermarket. Lots of laughs. Sending condolences to the family at this difficult time. Xo
