Aunt Eleanor was one of my favorite relatives. Everyone seems to remember her for her kind nature, and that's no mistake. When still in my early teens, I would often disappear from home. Mom would call Torbay (Grandmother: no, he's not here), then Kelligrews (Aunt El: yes, he's here), a common occurrence. Of course, I'd go there to play with my cousins Lorraine, Una, and Boyd (the other kids were quite a bit younger in those days). And then, at suppertime, there'd be Aunt El, in her high heels, making supper for the gang. She always seemed to wear high heels around the house. Then came dessert, and Aunt El was the Cookie Queen...I just loved her cookies. Even Mom (her sister Vi) acknowledged that El was really good at making cookies! In my eyes, she was one cute cookie!
