Obituary of Olivia Mercer nee Hiscock

Mercer, Olivia (Olive) nee Hiscock Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. L. A.Miller Centre on Friday, August 31, 2012 age 74 yrs of Paradise. Predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Selina Hiscock, son Robert Mercer and great- grandchild Cayden Alec Lewis. Leaving to mourn her loving husband Cecil, 15 children, Donald Coffin (Sharon) Marilyn Gullage (David), Wayne Coffin (Shirley), Gordon Coffin (Jackie), Edward Mercer, Darryl Mercer, Sharon Mercer, Darrin Coffin (Donna), Wendy Penney (Randy), Valerie Taylor (Fred), Brenda Mercer, Karen Coffin, Terry Mercer (Maxine), Tina Coffin and Ashley Mercer, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Marie, Margaret, Francis and their families, special childhood friend Millie Loder. Also a large circle of family and friends and her canine companion Hershey who stayed with her until the end. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Sunday and Monday from 10am - 9 pm. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Salvation Army Corps, Long Pond. Interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Long Pond. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre or to the Children's Wish Foundation. Special thanks to the Cancer Clinic, Dr. McCarthy and her staff and the staff of the palliative care unit of the Miller Centre, who took such great care of mom.
